Modeling Acceptable Novelty Based on Bayesian Information

چکیده

An individual’s acceptance of novelty depends on their emotions. We previously developed mathematical models emotional dimensions associated with novelty, such as arousal (i.e., surprise) and valence positivity negativity). The based Bayesian theorem have three parameters: prediction error, uncertainty external noise. Based Berlyne’s potential, we formulated an inverse U shape function arousal. assume that the level where turns from positive to negative shows range users would accept. In this study, derive a corresponding error term ‘acceptable novelty’. Our model predicts greater uncertainty, larger acceptable novelty. experimental results using musical stimuli novice participants supports under assumption is than By contrast, experts’ result explained by when low

Bayesian Modeling Based on Data from the Internet of Things

The Internet of Things is suggested as the upcoming revolution in the Information and communication technology due to its very high capability of making various businesses and industries more productive and efficient. This productivity comes from the emergence of innovation and the introduction of new capabilities for businesses. Different industries have shown varying reactions to IOT, but wha...

Dynamic Bayesian Information Measures

This paper introduces measures of information for Bayesian analysis when the support of data distribution is truncated progressively. The focus is on the lifetime distributions where the support is truncated at the current age t>=0. Notions of uncertainty and information are presented and operationalized by Shannon entropy, Kullback-Leibler information, and mutual information. Dynamic updatings...

Modeling auxiliary information in Bayesian network based ASR

Automatic speech recognition bases its models on the acoustic features derived from the speech signal. Some have investigated replacing or supplementing these features with information that can not be precisely measured (articulator positions, pitch, gender, etc.) automatically. Consequently, automatic estimations of the desired information would be generated. This data can degrade performance ...

Modeling Factors Affecting Tax Evasion in Iran's Economy Based on the Bayesian averaging approach

This study seeks to model tax evasion and identify how effective factors affect tax evasion in the Iranian economy. Recent models show the failure of traditional models; Models do not have enough ability to model hidden variables such as tax evasion. The present study considers this failure in identifying explanatory variables and experimental model design. To achieve this, the Bayesian averagi...

Learner Modeling Based on Bayesian Networks

The work presented in this chapter lies within Learner modeling in an adaptive ed‐ ucational system construed as a computational modeling of the learner. All actions of the learner in a learning situation on an adaptive hypermedia systems are not limited to valid or invalid actions (true and false), but they are a set of actions that characterize the learning path of his formation. Thus, we can...
